Traditional Buddhist Insight Meditation (also called Vipassana)
Follow-up days for experienced meditators


One day of fairly intensive, mostly silent, meditation practice and discussion.
These one-day sessions are highly recommended for those who have completed the
House
of Dhamma Introductory course and/ or who have already practised in the Mahasri Sayadaw
(or Section 5 Wat Mahadhatu) tradition and who wish to brush up their practice or to refine it.

This one-day session can be requested by individual meditators as a refresher.

2,000 Baht per person for a small group
(2 – 4 people) arranged by you

3,000 Baht for an individual

Course content


These courses are partly based on what the participants want to know
although there are certain essential points that will definitely be included.
As a result the schedule is somewhat flexible. It will be based on the following:

Getting to know you

Break

Short chanting

Walking exercise review plus additional exercises if appropriate + sitting

12.00 - 13.30 Lunch at a nearby food or coffee shop

Dhamma talk and question time

Walking practice followed by refinements of sitting practice

Feedback (sorb arom)

Break

Walking practice followed by refinements of sitting practice

Feedback (sorb arom)

Finish between 4.30 and 5 pm



 

Courses will be led by Acharn Helen Jandamit (formerly Rev. Saddharma)

 

 

General information

Instruction is in English.

Participants should be in good health and will normally be over 18 years old.

It is not necessary to be a Buddhist to attend but openness to Thai Buddhist culture is important.

Meditators should wear comfortable, fairly conservative clothing.
The meditation room is air-conditioned, so you may need a sweater.

Chairs are provided if preferred.

Coffee, tea and soft drinks are available.

Note: Accommodation is not available at the House of Dhamma but a list of nearby,
reasonably-priced hotels, guesthouses and hostels is available on request.
