Magha Puja Day
Vesakha Day
Asalha Day
Vesakha Day is the day when we celebrate the Birth, the Attainment of Supreme Enlightenment and the passing away (Parinibbana) of the Lord Buddha. It is celebrated on the full moon day of the sixth lanar month.
In 2026, the Visakha Puja celebration is on
Sunday, May 31
People who go there will say 'We have gathered here to pay our sincere Homage and respect for him by offering these flowers, together with incence and candles, to the image of the Buddha'
Magha Puja Day
The Magha Puja Day celebration
is on Tuesday, March 3 in 2026.
It falls on the Full moon day of the third lunar month. On this day, the Lord Buddha delivered the discourse on the main principles of his teachings to a great assembly of Bikkhus (monks). 1,250 Noble Disciples gathered there spontaneosly. All of them had been ordained by the Buddha himself. The were all Arahants (Enlightened ones).

Asalha Day
The third Buddhist Holy Day in Thailand is on Wednesday, July 29, in 2026. It is called Asalaha Puja. It is held on the full moon of the eighth lunar month.
On that day, The Lord Buddha preached the first discourse to the Five Ascetics at Isipatana in the deer sanctuary near Banares. It is called Dhammacakka Day in Ceylon (Sri Lanka). Usually, in Sri Lanka, Asalaha Puja is held on the full moon day of July, each year, although the date may change slightly.
It is the day that the first Discourse was preachcd by the Lord Buddha. It was the day the first Bhikkhu was ordained. It was the day that the Buddha proclaimed the Doctrine to the world. It was the day that the Triple Gem was completed. It was the day on which the First Disciple attained the eye of truth.
