Traditional Buddhist Vipassana Meditation

One-day follow-up courses in 2017

These one-day sessions are intended for those who have completed the House of Dhamma ‘Taster’ or ‘Vipassana introductory’ courses or who have already practised in the Mahasri Sayadaw tradition and who wish to brush up their practice or to refine it.

One day 10 am to 5 pm

The follow-up courses may be requested by individual meditators soon after the taster or introductory courses or at a later time as a refresher.


Course fees

3,500 Baht per person for a small group (2 – 5 people) on the scheduled dates

3,500 Baht per person for a small group (2 – 5 people) arranged by you

4,500 Baht for an individual

Course details

A single day of fairly intensive, mostly silent,
traditional Buddhist Vipassana meditation practice.



Instruction will be in English although meditation reports can be conducted either in Thai or in English.

Participants should be in good health and will normally be over 18 years old.

It is not necessary to be a Buddhist to attend but openness to Thai Buddhist culture is important.

Meditators should wear comfortable, conservative clothing in light, colours (white is preferable).

The meditation room is air-conditioned and chairs are provided if preferred.

Coffee, tea and fruit drinks are available and vegetarian lunch is provided.  


Course content

These courses are partly based on what the participants want to know although there are essential points that will definitely be included. As a result the schedule is somewhat flexible.
It will be based on the following:

Opening and short chanting

Walking exercise review plus additional walking exercises, if appropriate, followed by sitting practice - plus feedback (sorb arom)

Vegetarian lunch in a nearby coffee shop

Dhamma talk and question time


Walking practice followed by refinements of sitting practice

Feedback (sorb arom)


Walking practice followed by refinements of sitting practice

Feedback (sorb arom)

Finish between 4.30 and 5 pm

*Note: Accommodation is not available at the House of Dhamma but a list of nearby,
reasonably-priced hotels is available on request.
